URMR Cyber and Networking

CYBERSPACE Administration and NETWORKING
Two courses will be held at URMR that are cyber related. The first is the Cyberspace Advanced Administration Course. During this course, cadets will learn about policies that can be set on computer systems to reduce the likelihood of compromise. Cadets will also investigate scanning tools that can compare a system against a baseline to determine if the system is properly configured. Cadets will also learn to build and install a LAMP stack which involves creating a web based application on a Linux server to include the securing of the Apache web server and the MySQL database.
In the Cyberspace Networking Course, cadets will review network design concepts including understanding the OSI model and review different network topologies. Using actual Cisco routers and switches, cadets will develop a wide area network environment complete with routing protocols, access control lists, virtual local area networks (VLAN) and virtual private networks (VPN) to emulate real-world networking concepts.
